    • From Visalia, California – USA
    • Car Accident in 1983
    • Broke his Humerus, Radius, 10 Ribs and had Internal Bleeding
    • Bone graft on the left side to consolidate injury at spine level
    • 2 years after his accident, he tried to commit suicide and shot himself, which left him in the hospital for 8 months.
    • Spinal Cord Injury – T12-L1 Complete Paraplegic
    • Bodybuilding was what helped him to find himself and get better
    • Runner-up at the 2018 Arnold Classic
    • First Ever NPC Wheelchair Nationals Overall Champion in 1994 when Wheelchair Bodybuilding began in the NPC

  • What happened? Why are you in the Wheelchair?

    I was in a car accident April 1st, 1983. I broke my left arm (humerus, radius) 10 ribs broken and spinal cord injury.

  • Why did you get started?

    Because I had lost 45 pounds staying 1 year in the hospital. I wanted to get some weight back and some strength to be able to use the wheelchair

  • What made you want to become a Wheelchair Bodybuilder?

    I love weight training, bodybuilding always fascinated me.

  • How did you go about doing it?

    Just went to a gym and start training with friends.

  • What motivates you?

    Myself, my mom and family and souvenir of my grandfather who was a strong man. The possibility to change to look of people when they see me and forget the disability.

  • Do you have any suggestions or tips for others?

    If you choose this sport then just do it, go to the gym but leave your apprehension, fears at home. Don't be shy, just do it for yourself and you will meet some great people. Read books about nutrition and exercises always stay at the top of the information
