I was born on August 27th, 1993 at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand. As a little kid I was never very physically active and it wasn’t until early 2015 that I gained an interest in wheelchair basketball and for a few months early that year I represented the Waikato region in a few inter-regional tournaments. I ended up having to withdraw myself from that sport as the extensive amount of travel was affecting my studies, However in August that year I decided that since I was already doing the type of weight training that is typical within the bodybuilding sport that I would give it a go and registered with a New Zealand amateur wheelchair bodybuilding Federation (the New Zealand Wheelchair Bodybuilding Federation – NZWBBF), and have been on an off competing making my debut in October 2015.
I was born with a neural tube birth defect called Spina which rendered me paralyzed from the waist down
I got started purely because I was already doing the typical bodybuilder type training and found out that the wheelchair bodybuilding comps held by this federation are all based in Hamilton so I therefore could easily do these competitions without having to worry about extensive travel impacting my tertiary study

I started of by messaging one of my Facebook friends (the founder of the federation) who I had known from the first respite I regularly spent time at, and expressed a keen interest to give it a go and never looked back from then on
The reason I first started training was because I didn’t feel happy with my physique and the improvements I’ve made since I first started training/bodybuilding are my biggest source of Motivation
The biggest suggestion I have to simply put yourself and just give it a go and you may end up loving just as much as I do
